Multi-Property Holiday Activations, Bayer Properties

The brief

Bayer Properties currently owns and/or operates retail, urban and office properties totaling approximately 10 million square feet, such as The Summit in Birmingham, AL and The Summit in Reno, NV, The Pizitz Building in Birmingham, AL, and The Summit at Fritz Farm in Lexington, KY.

 

3DWD was asked to help develop a campaign,  using vacant storefronts , to create an interactive experience for shoppers during the holiday season.

The Approach

Our team developed 3 concepts for the 9 participating properties. These included a Winter Wonderland scene, a Santa Selfie scene and a Rudolph themed illustration scene.

 

For two of these concepts we developed a QR-code activated animation and game logic. By scanning the QR-code shoppers can play along and leave their e-mail address in order to be informed about the latest retail promotions.

The Outcome

The various graphics were installed across various states and with positive interactions on the various social media channels.

 

We hope to have helped make this (very different) 2020 holiday season a little nicer for those visiting these properties this December.

Galerija Belgrade at Belgrade Waterfront – Eagle Hills

The brief

Galerija Belgrade, the biggest shopping, entertainment and gourmet destination in the region, has welcomed its first visitors within Belgrade Waterfront this autumn. The figures that speak of the grandeur of the mall situated on the Sava riverbank – 300,000 sqm in total, 93,000 sqm of leasable area or 3,600 parking spaces – are just a small part of what Galerija Belgrade will impress visitors with.

 

3DWD was asked to assist with creative solutions to activate some of the shops and restaurants that were not going to be ready to open in time for the Grand Opening event.

The Approach

The 3DWD team visited the property to analyze the situation and developed a design approach which differentiates between 5 different types of concepts. These concepts range from patterned designs to interactive experiences.

 

In the end, together with the client we picked which type of concept would be most suitable per space and after that we developed these concepts further into designs that can be executed on site at the property.

The Outcome

In a record time – we successfully designed and managed the execution of this impressive project. Working together with our local Serbian partner DOGA we ensured a high-quality delivery of the project in time for the Grand Opening event.

 

The result was a combination of 3D Faux Retail Graphics, Selfie Moments and 3D Illusion Rooms that blend in nicely with the existing tenant mix and have helped to create an environment that captivates the new clientele.

Stadtgalerie Schweinfurt – ECE

The brief

ECE Germany manages 195 Shopping Centers in 12 European countries. One of them is located in Schweinfurt, Bavaria. 3DWD was announced to be the creative agency for special vacant units within their Portfolio. For the Stadtgalerie Schweinfurt, we were challenged to develop a concept, that turns their vacant spaces into experience rooms and attracts clients to take selfies.

The Approach

3DWD came up with custom graphics. We installed 4 different concepts: two selfie designs as well as hoardings with a “backdrop” in order to access the vacancy. In addition, we added value by placing a seating area to one of the designs and a bookshelf to exchange books, an initiative that was realized in cooperation with a tenant.

The Outcome

3DWD designed, produced and installed all the designs for this project. Clients are sharing images on social media. The Center Management as well as the owner of the shopping center are very satisfied with the outcome.

CityLife Milano – Sonae Sierra

CityLife Milano – Sonae Sierra

The brief

CityLife Shopping District in Milan, Italy requested 3DWD to develop an instagrammable moment for a temporary vacant space.

The Approach

3DWD came up with a creative animal 3D selfie – Graphic Concept. We created various 3D illusions rooms around the theme of animals, with the objective to make these look realistic and as though they would walk out of the façade.

 

To give an even more realistic look, our Design Team used the power of depths and a room to make it extra special.  Hashtags link to the centers social media platforms and will be visible on each picture spread to the world.

The Outcome

3DWD designed, adapted, and produced the designs for this request. Visitors started taking their selfies – and the vacant spaces turned into a special photo experience. A picture says more than a thousands words…

Centro Leonardo – Savills

The brief

Centro Leonardo in Rome, Italy – owned by Generali, and managed by Savills Italy, is currently undergoing a transformation.

3DWD was asked to develop a creative program to improve the look of vacant units and hoardings as the center is preparing for a new launch.

The Approach

Our design team looked at the new brand identity for #leoshopping and created a combination of 2D graphics, selfie moments, 3D Window Dressing® and 4D Window Dressing®.

In our execution we used a combination of materials, in order to comply with our clients requirements in terms of reusability and budget.

The Outcome

Our graphics were successfully installed right within the requested time frame. They were all well-received by our client and by local shoppers. First Selfie has already been taken even before the installation was completed!

Emmapassage – Wereldhave

Emmapassage – Wereldhave

The brief

Emmapassage in Tilburg, the Netherlands is getting a complete make-over. A modern, light and open shopping destination with large shop facades at the heart of this city. While refurbishments are still happening in some units, the mall is open to the public. With interesting visuals we will create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and highlight the new look.

The Approach

The architecture incorporates urban green. We went with a botanical theme to further enhance this. The presence of a large bookstore next to the visuals inspired us to go for a romantic style, as if they were huge pages from an illustrated book. Pop-out elements give the illustrations extra depth.

The Outcome

From the opening until all units are ready, the large flowers and butterflies, with splashes of green, pink, yellow and blue, will make the location into the cheerful and friendly place we envisioned.

The brief

The new centre Toppen in Johor Bahru, Malaysia opened 13 November and is 100% owned by Ikano Group. Adding 1.2 million square feet of leasable space to the Ikano Group portfolio.

 

3DWD was asked to develop selfie moments and 3D Window Dressing® graphics for some of the hoardings in the project.

The Approach

Our team looked at the Toppen brand – which is focused on fun and surprises – and developed various ideas that play with perspective and create “wow” moments.

 

Out of our collection of ideas several concepts were chosen and developed further for execution.

The Outcome

Our creative hoardings & graphics were successfully installed at the property before the opening date. Our work was well-received by our client and by local shoppers judging by the social media exposure we have seen since.

Créteil Soleil, Klépierre

Créteil Soleil, Klépierre 

The brief

Klépierre has inaugurated the 12,000m² extension of its Créteil Soleil shopping centre, the flagship of its portfolio in France. This is the first stage of an even bigger project that also includes a complete renovation of the existing shopping centre planned to be completed by the end of 2020.

 

3DWD was asked to develop selfie moments and interactive hoardings for some of the areas in the project.

The Approach

Our team looked at the Créteil soleil brand and the “Time to Shine” opening campaign  – and developed various ideas that fit with this new positioning and invite people to interact with these hoardings.

 

Out of our collection of ideas several concepts were chosen and developed further for execution.

The Outcome

We are proud to have worked on some really nice new concepts and successfully installing these at the property before the big extension opening party.

Fashion District Philadelphia, PREIT & Macerich

The brief

PREIT and Macerich recently opened the redeveloped Fashion District Philadelphia project  in downtown Philadelphia, PA.

 

3DWD was asked to develop several creative barricade concepts that would fit well with the location and positioning of the property and  that would create instagrammable selfie moments.

The Approach

Our design team analyzed the positioning of the center and developed various colorful concepts and provided various options for these to be executed within the requested timing and budget.

 

The team carefully looked at various elements that could be integrated in order to create visually appealing enhancements to the graphics.

The Result

On opening day, Fashion District Philadelphia, opened to many enthusiastic visitors.

Although our creative barricades only played a small part in that big event – we were happy to notice that our concepts were positively received and shared on social media like instagram and TikTok.

PLQ Mall, Lendlease Asia

PLQ Mall, Lendlease Asia

The brief

The new PLQ Mall, part of Lendlease’ Paya Lebar Quarter development in Singapore opened on August 30th, 2019. 3DWD was asked to develop creative hoarding concepts that fit with the architecture of the mall and also use some of our 3D Window Dressing® graphics to show the potential of some of the spaces that were not yet ready to open on opening date.

The Approach

Our team of designers made a study of the brand and architecture and sketched various textured hoarding concepts. Several of these were presented to the client and the most liked concepts were then developed further and the materialization was defined.

The Outcome

Before the opening date all our creative hoardings & graphics were successfully installed at the property. Since then we have seen lots of Instagram-posts with our hoardings on the background – so we assume that our designs were well liked by visitors.
